who is gosia?
Gosia Gabrys is a Melbourne based architect with over 25 years of practical experience, who specialises in working with heritage and custom design homes. She possesses an understanding for both the old and the new and can alter heritage-sensitive places providing contemporary practical design solutions while retaining existing historic features. Gosia’s building design experience and insight into heritage buildings, can enhance your renovation, extension, or new custom design home. Gosia works closely together with the client and a team of consultants, specialist builders and artisans to deliver a successful completion of the design.
Sustainable Design
In her design Gosia applies principles of sustainable design, working with the site’s topography and landscape to reduce the energy required to operate your building. Where practical Gosia’s designs, retain existing building elements to capture and reuse the embodied energy stored in existing building materials. This approach provides both cost and energy savings.
Conservation
Gosia possesses extensive experience in preparing conservation work plans and documentation for heritage-listed buildings. Notable projects include the former Dimmeys Store Clock Dial in Cremorne, Wuchtasch Farm Complex in Lalor, The Dairy in Templestowe, and Baronscourt in Bachus Marsh, among others.
Approval Process
Gosia has proven track record of working with various councils and Heritage Victoria to obtain the statutory and building permit approvals. Gosia provides guidance and coordinates the approval process from pre-application meeting to building permit approval and certificate of final completion.
